GETTING STARTED WITH ONLINE LEARNING
Monday, December 14th, 2020 UPDATE - ZOOM MEETING SCHEDULED FOR 11:00 AM - PARENTS AND STUDENTS OF IN-CLASS STUDENTS
Hello parents. I hope this letter finds you well, even during this uncertain time. We certainly are experiencing some unprecedented events. I want to thank everyone in advance for your support, patience, flexibility, and understanding during this time. This letter is designed to provide our parents and students important information. I am trying to be thorough, but as quickly as things are moving, I may have missed some key items. Do not hesitate to reach out to me with additional questions or for clarity. By now you know that our classroom is quarantining for at least three (3) days, but school will continue from home.
While much of the website was created last spring, I will be updating and adding material daily. The children should find plenty to do on this site, but we would also like to make sure they are signed up for and are active on our EMU google classroom so that we can continue interactive lessons and communication. The following are details on how to sign up.
Getting into Google Classroom:
The following are invites you should have already received or will be receiving at some point today (Monday, 12/14):
1.) An invitation for a Google Account for Montessori School at Emory. The sender is the Google Cloud Team. It will look like this:
From: The Google Cloud Team <[email protected]>
Date: December 14th
Subject: You have a new Google account for Montessori School At Emory
2.) After the set up of the new Google Account, you should have received an invite from Google Classroom to join the Emu Classroom 2020-2021. There should be an easy to follow link, but you can also go through the Google Classroom website (Link). Make sure you are signed into google with the correct msae.education account.
3.) By Tuesday, your children will be receiving lessons via their msae.education e-mail to attend lessons and to get updates on work. (By Monday afternoon, specific details will be available)
Mr. Pete
P.S. I will be updating information on everything as soon as I can, but please reach out with any questions as I will be by the computer every day during the quarantine.

NOTE ABOUT MATH PROBLEMS: The downloads (pdf) for math practice have the answer sheets included with them so that you can check their problems when they are finished. I totally trust our students (99% of the time :)) but just be aware so they aren't tempted to use them before trying the problems.
Ordering books while on quarantine? While we all love Amazon, consider using Better World Books (Link HERE). It donates a portion of the profits to charities that promote education and literacy around the world.
